It inhabits the deepest and most complex systems it can find, and it processes information at a level that has led some researchers to wonder, uneasily, exactly how much it understands. It manipulates current and data with fine control, reshaping the light of its own body into shifting geometric patterns that may be display, may be communication, and may be something no one has yet decoded.
