Infinix

It soars the thermals above Mount Muspel on wings of pure flame, and where it climbs highest the updrafts of the volcano lift it effortlessly, a spark rising against the smoke. It is said, and cautiously believed, that a mortally wounded Infinix collapses into ash and, given a hot enough bed of coals, reconstitutes itself over days, emerging renewed, though no researcher has yet had the patience or the nerve to verify it end to end. It nests in active vents where no predator dares follow, and its cry, high and clear over the mountain's rumble, is the sound the people of Vlamma have come to think of as the voice of the fire itself.
