Toravolt

It grazes the metal-rich outcrops of Donar, filing its horns against iron seams to keep them conductive, and it can go for days as a living capacitor, growing visibly brighter as it charges. When it finally lets go, horns lowered, the bolt is less lightning than artillery, and it fells prey and clears rivals with the same single overwhelming release. It is territorial but not cruel, preferring to warn with a rising whine and a shower of sparks before committing, and most sensible creatures take the hint and are gone before the horns come down.
