It commands the highest ledges and sheerest ice-faces of Fresia Pass, going surefooted where nothing else dares, and it defends its lofty territory with great head-on clashes of those spiraling horns, contests that ring across the peaks like cracking ice. It grazes the sparse growth of the summits and reads the mountain's weather with an accuracy born of a life spent at its mercy, moving to shelter before a storm that others never saw coming. Solitary and proud, it stands its high vigils alone against the wind, and Fresia's travelers have long taken the sight of an Arctiram descending to lower ground as a sure and sober warning that terrible weather is on its way.
