Crimsonite Lampyre

It takes to the air on delicate charged wings, flashing its bright abdomen in patterned pulses to court mates, warn rivals, and confuse predators, a whole flickering vocabulary written in light. It feeds on nectar and the sweet electric sap of storm-struck trees, and it stores enough charge in that glowing abdomen to deliver a sharp shock to anything that mistakes it for an easy meal. On the darkest nights whole hillsides of Lampyre flash in slow rolling waves, a spectacle the people of Donar climb the ridges specifically to see.
