It ranges further and bolder than the Tinshel, its integrated carapace freeing it from the anxious search for larger shells, and it forages the dunes with methodical patience. The armor can pull in tight against sandstorms and predators alike, riding out both in a sealed, patient hunch. It has developed a habit of half-burying itself at rest, only the domed shell showing, so that a stretch of Dunpod dozing through the noon heat looks like nothing so much as a scatter of smooth stones on the sand, waiting for the cool to move again.
