Gella

It feeds by drifting with its fine tentacles spread, snaring plankton and smaller creatures and drawing them up into the bell, a passive strategy that costs it almost nothing. Its sting is mild to a large creature and lethal to a small one, and its glow, which flares blue at a touch, seems to startle predators just long enough for the current to carry it clear. Great loose blooms of Gella gather in the coves on warm nights, pulsing in soft unison, and a whole bay of them lit up under a moon is one of the gentler wonders of the Water country.
