Krypeek

It builds up its ice armor into ridges and spurs that double as weapons, headbutting rivals with a crack that echoes off the pass walls. It feeds on the hardy lichens and frozen berries of the mid-slopes, chipping them free with its reinforced brow. Wary by nature, it keeps to a routine of the same basking-ledges and the same sheltered notch each night, and it reads the mountain's moods well enough that a nervous Krypeek retreating downslope is a fair warning to a traveler that worse weather is coming.
