Crimsonite Decibite

It grinds along the ground on many short legs, feeding on tough roots and detritus that its strong mandibles can process, in no hurry and rarely in danger. Threatened, it curls into a tight armored spiral, presenting nothing but hard plating to the world, and it will hold that ball with infinite patience until the threat loses interest. It burrows shallowly to escape the worst heat, and colonies of Decibite share loose networks of tunnels, a slow, armored, faintly clicking community going about the unhurried business of not being eaten.
